Turn an Article into a Video Script
Convert written prose into a script that actually sounds natural spoken aloud, not the article read verbatim.
Prompt template
Replace the parts in curly braces: source article text, target video length (in minutes), presenter style (e.g. conversational, formal narrator)
Turn the following article into a {target video length}-minute video script in a {presenter style} voice. Structure it as: hook (first 10 seconds), main points in a logical order, and a closing line. Keep it spoken-language, not written-language — short sentences, no complex subordinate clauses.
{source article text}Example
Input: A written how-to article.
Output: Illustrative only. A good result reads like something spoken aloud, not like the source article read verbatim — the AI should restructure sentence rhythm, not just trim words.
Quality checklist
- Read the script aloud — if a sentence is hard to say in one breath, it needs rewriting regardless of what the AI produced
- Check the estimated speaking time against the actual word count (roughly 130-150 words per minute of natural speech)
Where this tends to go wrong
- AI scripts often run long against the requested time because word count isn't the same as speaking-pace time
- A hook that reads well on the page can sound generic or clichéd out loud
